MPower vs Liftoff Commerce

Liftoff Commerce is a company-store and web-to-print platform for print, promo and apparel distributors, priced as a monthly fee plus 2.5% to 3% of store revenue. MPower is one system for promotional products distributors: CRM, presentations, orders, supplier POs over PromoStandards, unlimited stores and accounting, for a subscription plus 1.9% or 1.5% of web-store orders. Here is the side-by-side.

Why distributors move to MPower

More than a storefront.

Sell before the store exists

CRM, opportunities, presentations and quotes live in the same system as your stores. Liftoff's published feature list starts at the store.

A smaller cut as stores grow

MPower takes 1.9% of web-store orders on All-in-One and 1.5% on Pro, and 0% on orders your team enters in the app. Liftoff takes 3% on Standard and 2.5% on Professional.

The books close in the same place

QuickBooks sync, reconciliation, billing and commissions sit next to the orders that created them, instead of in a separate ERP.

Side by side

MPower vs Liftoff Commerce, feature by feature.

Both run branded company stores with budgets, approvals, SSO and punchout. The difference is how much of the business sits around them, and how you pay.

What it actually costs

Above about $523K a year in store sales, MPower costs less.

Liftoff publishes its revenue share but not its monthly fees, so the Liftoff columns below are the revenue share alone. Liftoff's real cost is higher by whatever its monthly fee turns out to be. MPower's columns are the full published price.

Store sales per yearMPower All-in-OneMPower ProLiftoff Standard

Liftoff Professional

$250,000$10,500$15,260$7,500 + fee$6,250 + fee
$1,000,000$24,750$26,510$30,000 + fee$25,000 + fee
$3,000,000$62,750$56,510$90,000 + fee$75,000 + fee

Where the lines cross. MPower All-in-One costs less than Liftoff Standard's 3% share alone above about $523,000 a year of store sales, and less than Professional's 2.5% share alone above about $958,000. MPower Pro beats Professional's share alone above about $1.15 million. Liftoff's monthly fees move every one of those points lower.

When Liftoff Commerce is the better fit. If you run three stores or fewer, sell well under $500,000 a year through them, and already have your CRM and accounting somewhere else, Liftoff Standard is likely cheaper: at $250,000 its 3% share is $7,500 against $10,500 for MPower All-in-One, so it stays cheaper unless its per-store fees pass $3,000 a year. It is month-to-month, and its web-to-print tools (online design, proofing, Pageflex templates) go further than MPower's storefront designer.

Where MPower wins

  • One system, not a stack. CRM, presentations, orders, stores and accounting share one database.
  • A lower take on store sales: 1.9% or 1.5%, against Liftoff's 3% or 2.5%.
  • Every price is published, so you can do this math before a sales call.
  • Unlimited stores on All-in-One, without moving to a one-year term.
  • 0% on orders your team enters in the app; the fee applies to web-store orders only.
  • 725,000+ products over PromoStandards, with electronic POs to connected suppliers.

How these are built. MPower All-in-One: $5,750 a year ($479.20/mo billed annually, up to 10 users) plus 1.9% of web-store orders, so $250K = $5,750 + $4,750 = $10,500. MPower Pro: $11,510 a year ($959.20/mo billed annually, unlimited users) plus 1.5%, so $250K = $11,510 + $3,750 = $15,260. Per-order minimums ($1 on All-in-One, $0.25 on Pro) are ignored, which holds for average orders above about $53. Liftoff: 3% (Standard) and 2.5% (Professional) of revenue from liftoffcommerce.com/pricing; its per-store and support fees are not published, so they are left out. Crossovers: $5,750 ÷ (3.0% − 1.9%) = $522,727; $5,750 ÷ (2.5% − 1.9%) = $958,333; $11,510 ÷ (2.5% − 1.5%) = $1,151,000. Standard is capped at 3 stores. MPower's figures exclude card processing; Liftoff does not say whether its revenue share includes it.

FAQ

Switching from Liftoff Commerce, answered.

How much does Liftoff Commerce cost?
Liftoff publishes three plans. Standard is a monthly fee per store plus 3% of revenue, for up to 3 stores, month-to-month. Professional is a flat monthly support fee plus 2.5% of revenue, with unlimited stores on a one-year term. Enterprise is priced by quote. The dollar amounts of the monthly fees are not published.
Is MPower cheaper than Liftoff Commerce?
It depends on how much your stores sell. On published rates, MPower All-in-One costs less than Liftoff Standard's 3% share alone above about $523,000 a year of store sales, and less than Professional's 2.5% share alone above about $958,000. Below those levels Liftoff can be cheaper, depending on its monthly fees.
Does Liftoff Commerce include CRM and accounting?
Not in its published feature list. Liftoff covers customer and account management, orders, inventory and stores, and connects to ERP systems such as Antera, DemandBridge and e-Quantum. MPower includes CRM, presentations and QuickBooks accounting in the same system as its stores.
Does MPower support punchout and single sign-on?
Yes. MPower stores support cXML punchout and SAML single sign-on, alongside allowances, approvals, and start and end dates for pop-up programs. Liftoff offers cXML punchout and SAML SSO too.
Can my customers design products on an MPower store?
Yes. MPower's storefront designer lets buyers add text and upload their own artwork onto a product. Liftoff's web-to-print tools go further, with online proofing, digital asset management and Pageflex templates.
Is MPower SOC 2 audited?
Yes. MPower holds a SOC 2 Type 2 report, independently audited by Sensiba LLP. Liftoff also lists SOC 2 Type II, along with PCI DSS Level 2.
What comes across when I move?
Customer and contact records, order history and artwork files come across. Product data is rebuilt live from PromoStandards rather than copied, so it arrives current. Store designs are rebuilt with the MPower store builder and templates.
