MPower vs ProfitMaker

ProfitMaker is a quote-only back office.
MPower publishes one price for all of it.

ProfitMaker, from ASI Computer Systems, is long-standing business management software for promotional products companies: orders, a built-in general ledger, inventory and an eCommerce module, sold on a quote after a demo. MPower puts stores, orders, CRM and QuickBooks accounting in one application at a published price. Here is the side-by-side.

What it actually costs

A full year of MPower, stores included.

ASI Computer Systems does not publish ProfitMaker pricing, so we cannot put a number in its column. Here is what MPower costs for a year, store fees included, to hold against your ProfitMaker quote and whatever you pay for a separate store tool.

When ProfitMaker is the better fit. If you want your general ledger inside the same system as your orders, rather than in QuickBooks, ProfitMaker's integrated accounting goes deeper than MPower's QuickBooks sync, and its inventory and fulfilment tools cover distributor-owned and client-owned stock. If your accountant lives in that ledger, weigh it heavily. Ask ASI Computer Systems for the full cost, including the eCommerce module, and compare the first-year total.

Where MPower wins

  • A price you can see. Every plan is published; no demo needed to learn the cost.
  • Back office and stores in one. No separate store tool to buy and connect.
  • Unlimited company stores on All-in-One and Pro, with allowances, approvals, SSO and start and end dates.
  • 725,000+ products over PromoStandards, with electronic POs to connected suppliers.
  • AI on the busywork: supplier emails become order updates.
  • SOC 2 Type 2, independently audited by Sensiba LLP.

How these are built. All-in-One is $5,750 a year billed annually (up to 10 users, unlimited stores) plus a 1.9% fee on web-store orders: $100K × 1.9% = $1,900, so $7,650; $250K × 1.9% = $4,750, so $10,500. All-in-One Pro is $11,510 a year (unlimited users) plus 1.5%: $500K × 1.5% = $7,500, so $19,010. Orders your team enters in the app carry 0%. Per-order minimums ($1 on All-in-One, $0.25 on Pro) are not modelled. QuickBooks is billed separately by Intuit and is not included. ASI Computer Systems publishes no ProfitMaker prices, so its column shows none.

FAQ

Switching from ProfitMaker, answered.

Who makes ProfitMaker?
ASI Computer Systems, Inc. of Waterloo, Iowa, which says it has served the promotional products industry since 1969 and works in partnership with ASI. Its website also sells a second product, ASI SmartBooks. Note that profitmaker.com is not their site: that domain belongs to unrelated dry-cleaning software. ProfitMaker is at asicomp.com.
How much does ProfitMaker cost?
ASI Computer Systems does not publish ProfitMaker pricing. Its site offers a free demo and a sales line. Ask for the full first-year cost, including any eCommerce module, training and support.
Is ProfitMaker cloud or desktop software?
Its website does not say. Ask ASI Computer Systems how and where it is installed and who hosts your data. MPower runs in the browser, with nothing to install.
I use ProfitMaker with a separate store platform. Can MPower replace both?
Yes. MPower includes orders, CRM, presentations, production, commissions and company stores (unlimited on All-in-One and Pro) in one application, with accounting synced to QuickBooks. The difference is your ledger: with MPower it lives in QuickBooks, not inside the order system.
Does MPower connect to suppliers over PromoStandards?
Yes. MPower syncs over 725,000 products by PromoStandards and sends electronic purchase orders over PromoStandards to connected suppliers.
