What it actually costs

SAGE is cheaper for a small team. Stores change the math.

Both companies publish their prices, so here are yearly totals on annual billing. SAGE adds a subscription for every store; MPower includes unlimited stores and charges a small fee on store sales instead.

When SAGE is the better fit. If your business is mostly product research and quoting with a few stores, SAGE costs far less: under $1,000 a year for five users, and a Workplace subscription also brings PPAI or Merch Canada membership. Its database of over 2 million products is larger than MPower's 725,000+ PromoStandards catalog, and it offers a 30-day free trial with no card. At 10 users, MPower All-in-One only costs less than SAGE once you run about nine Premium stores, before MPower's store fee.

Where MPower wins

  • Unlimited stores, one price. A new store never adds a subscription.
  • Company programs built in: allowances, approvals, SSO, start and end dates.
  • Punchout built in, over cXML (for example Workday) and Jaggaer.
  • Supplier email turned into order updates by AI, plus Stripe-to-QuickBooks reconciliation.
  • No per-seat bill up to 10 users on All-in-One, unlimited on Pro.
  • SOC 2 Type 2, independently audited by Sensiba LLP.
  • Keep SAGE search by connecting your SAGE account.

How these are built. SAGE: Workplace $595/yr for the first user plus $95/yr for each extra user (5 users = $975, 10 = $1,450, 20 = $2,400), plus SAGE Premium Store at $495/yr per store (3 = $1,485, 10 = $4,950, 20 = $9,900, 25 = $12,375). MPower: Starter $119.20/mo, All-in-One $479.20/mo and Pro $959.20/mo billed annually, times 12. MPower web-store orders carry a 1.9% fee on All-in-One (minimum $1 per order) or 1.5% on Pro (minimum $0.25), excluding tax and shipping, and 0% on orders your team enters in the application. At 20 stores and 10 users, SAGE's extra $5,599.60 covers MPower's 1.9% fee on up to about $294,700 of store sales a year. Card processing is excluded on both sides (SAGE Payment Processing is 2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction). SAGE Websites ($49 to $109/mo) and Premium Plus stores ($795/yr) would raise the SAGE column.
