MPower vs ShopWorks

ShopWorks OnSite runs the shop floor.
MPower runs the floor and reaches distributors.

ShopWorks makes OnSite, shop management software for screen printers, embroiderers and decorated apparel companies, rented monthly at prices it does not publish, with proofing and a customer portal sold as add-ons. MPower’s Operate plan, $899/mo, puts orders, proofs, the production calendar, board and machines, supplier stores and reconciliation in one cloud platform, and hosts your catalog for MPower distributors over PromoStandards. Here is the side-by-side.

Why decorators look at MPower

Run the shop and reach distributors in one system.

Published pricing

Operate is $899/mo on our supplier pricing page. ShopWorks asks you to inquire about OnSite pricing.

Supplier stores built in

Supplier stores are part of the Operate plan. ShopWorks brings web orders in through Shopify, WooCommerce, OrderMyGear and other integrations.

Reach MPower distributors

Hosted PromoStandards endpoints let distributors on MPower pull your product data, and product ads raise its visibility across the network.

Side by side

MPower vs ShopWorks OnSite, feature by feature.

Both run a decoration shop from order to shipped. ShopWorks goes deeper on the shop floor and bundles quoting and accounting; MPower’s Operate plan adds supplier stores, reach to MPower distributors and published pricing.

What it actually costs

Proofing is an extra at ShopWorks. On Operate it is included.

ShopWorks does not publish what OnSite itself costs, so we cannot give you a total. It does publish its add-on prices. Here they are next to what MPower’s Operate plan covers.

When ShopWorks is the better fit. If you are a production-first apparel shop, OnSite has more than 30 years of shop-floor depth: size matrices, automatic job costing and scheduling by department or machine. It can also run on your own servers, which MPower does not offer, and ShopWorks includes its webinar training free for customers. OnSite also bundles quoting with real-time vendor pricing and built-in accounting tools, which the Operate plan does not include. If the press floor is the whole business and you do not need supplier stores or reach to distributors, ask ShopWorks for an OnSite quote and weigh it seriously.

Where MPower wins

  • A price you can see. Operate is published at $899/mo; no demo needed to learn the cost.
  • Proof management included, not billed as a separate add-on.
  • Supplier stores built in, not bolted on through integrations.
  • Reach MPower distributors, with hosted PromoStandards endpoints and product ads.
  • Production to reconciliation, from the order queue to the calendar, board and machines.
  • SOC 2 Type 2, independently audited by Sensiba LLP.

How these are built. The MPower price is from our published supplier pricing page: Operate at $899/mo, and every MPower feature we claim here is part of Operate. ShopWorks prices are copied from its ProofStuff and ManageOrders pages. ProofStuff is listed per month; the ManageOrders page does not state a billing period, and both say no setup charges apply. ShopWorks lists no price for OnSite or for ShopWorks Pay processing, so no total is shown for ShopWorks.

FAQ

Comparing ShopWorks and MPower, answered.

How much does ShopWorks OnSite cost?
ShopWorks does not publish OnSite pricing; its site says licences are rented monthly and asks you to inquire. Its add-ons are published: ProofStuff from $112 a month for up to 1,000 proofs, and ManageOrders from $140 for 1 to 5 OnSite users. ShopWorks Pay processing rates are by quote.
Is ShopWorks cloud or on-premises?
Both. ShopWorks can host OnSite on a dedicated cloud server and handle updates and backups, or you can rent the licences monthly and run them on your own servers. MPower is cloud only, used in the browser.
Does MPower schedule production like OnSite?
MPower has a production board, a production calendar and your machines, connected to the order queue and the proofs for each job. OnSite goes further on shop-floor detail such as size matrices and automatic job costing, so test both against a week of your real jobs.
Can I run online stores with ShopWorks?
ShopWorks connects to store platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, OrderMyGear and BrightStores, and its ManageOrders portal lets customers check orders and pay. MPower’s Operate plan includes supplier stores in the same system as your orders. Company stores with allowances, approvals and single sign-on are not part of Operate.
Can distributors find my products through MPower?
Yes. Operate includes hosted PromoStandards endpoints, so distributors on MPower can pull your product data, plus product ads to raise your visibility across the MPower distributor network. Live blank pricing in quotes is not part of Operate.
