MPower vs Printavo

Printavo runs the print shop.
MPower connects it to promo.

Printavo is shop-management software for screen printers and decorators, now part of Taivo. It handles quotes, invoices, art approvals and production scheduling. MPower Operate, our supplier plan, starts where the order lands: the orders and production queue, the production calendar, board and machines, proofs and reconciliation. It also connects your shop to promotional products distributors through hosted PromoStandards endpoints, supplier stores and product ads. Operate does not include quoting or invoicing. Here is the side-by-side.

What it actually costs

For a small shop, Printavo costs less.

Both companies charge a monthly subscription. Here is the yearly platform cost on each one's published prices, so you can see the gap and decide whether what MPower adds is worth it to your shop.

PlanWhat the plan coversPer monthPer year
Printavo Lite2 users, 20 quotes or invoices a month$109$1,308
Printavo Standard5 users, unlimited quotes, shipping labels, QuickBooks Online$244$2,928
Printavo Standard + MerchStandard plus Printavo Merch online stores$353$4,236
Printavo Premium20 users, Power Scheduler, purchase orders, receiving, Zapier, APINot published
MPower OperateOrders and production queue, production calendar, board and machines, proofs, reconciliation, supplier stores, PromoStandards endpoints$899$10,788
When Printavo is the better fit. If you are a print shop of up to five people selling directly to local teams, schools and businesses, and you need quotes, invoices, art approvals and shipping labels in one system, Printavo Standard does that for $2,928 a year, well under MPower's price. MPower Operate does not include quoting, invoicing or shipping labels, so you would still need a tool for those. If you never sell to or through promotional products distributors, most of what Operate adds is not for you.

Where MPower wins

  • Production pricing you can see. The production calendar, board and machines are on a published plan.
  • Proofs and reconciliation on the same plan as production.
  • Hosted PromoStandards endpoints so distributors can connect to your product data.
  • Product ads across the MPower distributor network.
  • Supplier stores on the same plan as orders and production.
  • SOC 2 Type 2, independently audited by Sensiba LLP.

How these are built. Monthly price times 12. Printavo Lite $109 x 12 = $1,308; Standard $244 x 12 = $2,928; Standard plus the $109/mo Merch add-on = $353 x 12 = $4,236, from printavo.com/pricing (monthly prices only; Premium is quoted by sales). MPower Operate $899 x 12 = $10,788, from mpowerpromo.com/pricing/supplier. Card processing fees are not included in these figures, and Printavo does not publish its processing rate.

FAQ

Printavo or MPower, answered.

How much does Printavo cost?
Printavo publishes two monthly prices: Lite at $109 a month (2 users, 20 quotes or invoices a month) and Standard at $244 a month (5 users, unlimited quotes). Premium, with 20 users and the Power Scheduler, is priced through sales. Printavo Merch online stores add $109 a month on Standard. There is a free 7-day trial.
Is MPower cheaper than Printavo?
No, not for a small shop. Printavo Standard is $2,928 a year; MPower Operate, the plan with the production calendar, board and machines, is $10,788 a year. Operate does not include quoting or invoicing. It makes sense when your shop works with promotional products distributors and wants production, proofs, supplier stores and PromoStandards endpoints in one system.
Who owns Printavo now?
Printavo belongs to Taivo, the company formerly called Inktavo, which also owns OrderMyGear and GraphicsFlow. Printavo connects to its sister product InkSoft for online stores; if you are weighing InkSoft too, see our MPower vs InkSoft comparison.
Does Printavo take a cut of my sales?
Printavo says it does not take a share of the profits made on its platform. Card and ACH payments run through its embedded payment system, and it does not publish the processing rate. Disputes cost $20 each and eCheck returns $5, per its help center.
Does MPower Operate include quoting?
No. Operate is MPower's supplier plan and starts at the order: the orders and production queue, the production calendar, board and machines, proof management and reconciliation. Quoting, invoicing and payments are not part of it.
How does each handle product catalogs?
Printavo's global catalogs are SanMar and S&S, and you can add custom products. MPower Operate manages your own product catalog and hosts PromoStandards endpoints so promotional products distributors can connect to your product data. It does not include third-party blank catalogs.
